The Cancun Underwater Museum of Art, or MUSA, is one of the world’s largest underwater museums. It has more than 500 sculptures made with eco-friendly materials, and its mission is to protect, restore, and speed up coral growth.
These sculptures create new habitats for sea life and give tourists a new underwater experience. They also help reduce pressure on the most popular coral reefs.

MUSA is inspired by humans, real people, and real objects. The sculptures are in different areas and at different depths. Some are at snorkeling depth, about 3 meters deep, and others are for scuba diving, around 10 meters deep.

How to snorkel in the MUSA
Although the MUSA seems close you cannot swim to the museum from the shore. But you can rent a boat, preferably with experienced crew to find the best parts of the museum. There are some areas with shallow waters which are good for kids and beginners.
